A one-hour orientation will be presented to the newly admitted CDIS juniors and leveling students. Academic program questions plus "living in Round Rock" questions will be taken. A panel of current undergrad seniors will be available to help answer questions about the moving-to-Round-Rock transition. This will be followed by a 2-hour Open House in Willow Hall for both new undergraduate and graduate students with departmental and clinic tours, information about Student Organizations, and opportunities to meet other students and faculty.

Inhale, Exhale, Excel: Hands-On Respiratory Care Experience

Step into the world of Respiratory Care through this exciting, hands-on interactive event! Explore the life-saving skills and technology used by respiratory therapists as you rotate through engaging clinical experience stations designed to give you a firsthand look at the profession.
Upon arrival, you'll receive a Clinical Passport that will be stamped as you complete each station. Visit the Intubation Station to practice airway management on clinical training mannequins, experience lung mechanics at the Ventilator & Pig Lung Bagging Station, and discover how respiratory therapists assess lung health through Pulmonary Function Testing using real spirometry equipment.
Complete all stations to enter a raffle for TXST-themed prizes, then stay for a Q&A session with faculty, current students, and Respiratory Care leaders. Enjoy music, light snacks, and the opportunity to learn about program admissions, career pathways, and what it takes to become a respiratory therapist. Whether you're exploring healthcare careers or interested in respiratory care, this is an experience you won't want to miss!
