Friend of Student Success Award
Description:
The Friend of the Division of Student Success Award recognizes individuals, teams, or organizations that have made significant contributions to supporting the goals and mission of the Division of Student Success. This award celebrates collaborative partnerships that positively impact student outcomes and help advance the success of student-focused initiatives within Texas State University. Awardees will be those who have gone beyond their typical responsibilities to collaborate with departments within the Division, fostering an environment where students thrive both on-campus and in the broader community. Nominees will be evaluated on their alignment with the Student Success Framework, which includes:
- Basic Needs: Supporting students’ financial wellness, housing, food security, and resource access.
- Academic Pathways: Helping students navigate their academic journey and master skills for success.
- Individual Connections: Fostering positive relationships among students, faculty, and staff.
- Community Engagement: Strengthening students’ sense of belonging both at the university and in the local community.
- Health and Well-being: Supporting students’ emotional and physical wellness.
- Career-Related Engagement: Promoting career exploration and professional development.
Eligibility:
- On-Campus Nominees: Any individual or department outside the Division of Student Success that has contributed meaningfully to supporting a program or goal within the division.
- Off-Campus Nominees: Any individual or organization outside of Texas State University that has been a key partner in advancing the division’s mission.
- All nominees must demonstrate significant collaboration that has had a measurable impact on the success of student-focused initiatives.
Nomination deadline is March 31, 2025
Criteria for the Award:
- Collaboration and Impact: Nominee’s contribution to a program or initiative, demonstrating measurable success in achieving key objectives within the Division.
- Support for Student Success: Nominee’s involvement in enhancing student success in areas such as engagement, access, health, wellness, or academic support.
- Beyond Normal Scope of Work: Nominee’s actions demonstrating initiative beyond typical responsibilities, directly advancing the Division’s mission.
