Awards of Excellence in Student Success

Description:

This award recognizes multiple individuals in the Division of Student Success who are dedicated to achieving the goals of their department and the Division of Student Success through their exemplary performance. They have improved efficiencies, program/departmental effectiveness, and/or team dynamics through their contributions. Evidence of success based on specific and measurable evidence demonstrates the positive contribution and outcomes associated with their work. 

 

Categories for DSS Awards of Excellence are:

  • Facilities Services Staff
  • Administrative Services Staff
  • Professional Staff
  • Graduate Assistants
  • New Professional

Eligibility:

  • Must be in a position below the Director level.
  • Graduate assistants must have a minimum of one semester and all other staff must have a minimum of one year of employment in the Division of Student Success at the time of nomination.

        New Professional must have less than 2 years as a full-time practitioner in the field of Student Success.

Criteria:

The selection committee considers but is not limited to the following:

  • Demonstrated excellence in their work to help achieve the goals and objectives of the Division of Student Success.
  • Provided excellent customer service for the department, the Division of Student Success, TXST students, and the university community.
  • Exhibited innovation and initiative in the approach to their work as it relates to the goals of their department and the division encouraging new ideas, creativity, and open mindedness.
  • Engaged in collaborative efforts across campus, the Division, or the community through committees, teams, work groups, and/or trainings.
  • Contributed to the success of students in the areas of engagement & involvement, access & support, health & wellness, and/or the residential experience.

Process:

Completed nomination packets must include:

  • Examples and evidence to show the extent of the recipient’s dedication to achieving the goals of their department and/or the Division.
  •  One letter of support from another individual

Self-nominations will not be accepted.
