Celebrating the First-Ever Layne's Chicken Fingers College Campus Location at Texas State University

San Marcos, Texas – Texas State Hospitality, Texas State University and Layne's Chicken Fingers officially celebrated the grand opening of the brand's first-ever college campus location on September 1, bringing one of Texas' most recognizable chicken finger concepts to the heart of the Bobcat community.

The milestone was commemorated with a ceremonial ribbon cutting attended by university leadership, Texas State Hospitality representatives and Layne's executives. The opening represents a landmark moment for both organizations, as Texas State becomes the first university in the nation to host a Layne's Chicken Fingers restaurant on campus.

Located at The Yard at Jones, the new restaurant expands dining options for students, faculty and staff while introducing the Layne's brand to a new generation of guests in a collegiate setting. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences and enhancing campus life through innovative food concepts.

Following the ribbon cutting, students participated in a variety of grand opening activations, including giveaways, product sampling, a Texas State and Layne's-themed photo booth, and live entertainment from a student DJ. To further enhance the experience, Texas State Hospitality transformed the seating area adjacent to the restaurant into an immersive Astro Chicken-themed lounge, creating a vibrant gathering space for students to connect, relax and celebrate the occasion.
